Prevent Wrinkles and Dry Skin: Use Olive Oil On Your Skin With These 2 Simple Essential Oil Blends
Using olive oil on skin can be extremely beneficial for slowing down and diminishing wrinkles.
It isn’t an oil I would recommend using daily, but it’s benefits are highly recognized and it plays an important role in natural beauty. It’s also a nice oil that can be used to treat wrinkles while helping you treat dry skin at the same time. A deep treatment once or twice a week works well. We’ll talk about this in detail below.
Following are a few essential oils I recommend you combine when you’re using olive oil on skin to treat wrinkles and dry skin.
Rose Otto Essential Oil For Mature, Sensitive Skin
Rose is an excellent oil for anti-aging and dry skin. It’s also extremely gentle making it perfect for people with dry skin. Also, because it helps with circulation you’ll find that over time you’re over all skin condition will improve and your skin won’t need a dry skin treatment any more!
In terms of its effects on your health and mood, rose oil is both calming and invigorating making it a good scent for both morning and night skin care routines. It is also a mild aphrodisiac and can relieve you of minor headaches.
Warning: If you have low blood pressure, you’ll want to be careful with how much rose essential oil you use. I don’t think it would be an issue used topically in such small amounts, but please keep an eye on it if you use this blend regularly. Better safe than sorry!
Lavender And Ylang Ylang For Combination Skin
Lavender is an excellent oil for anti-aging skin care while Ylang Ylang does an excellent job of balancing your sebaceous glands. Combined, they work really well to diminish and prevent wrinkles while normalizing your skin. If you have scars from pimples, the lavender oil while help them heal more quickly as well. And, if you have a sunburn using this will help it heal it a lot more quickly.
Lavender is very soothing and balancing. This makes It a good all-around oil to use because it will calm you if you are hyper or stressed and wake you up and invigorate you when you are tired or feeling down.
Ylang Ylang on the other hand is extremely relaxing. It’s also an aphrodisiac. Combined with Lavender it will make you feel very calm and relaxed. It’s a nice scent before heading off to a stressful day at work or right before going to bed.
Warning: Like with Rose EO, you’ll want to keep an eye on your blood pressure if it’s traditionally low. Like I said above, if you’re using it topically and in such small amounts it shouldn’t be a problem. I just think it’s safer for you to be cautious.
How To Use These Blends
- These are meant to be used very easily – simply apply after a hot shower.
- Combine the olive oil and essential oil(s) and apply to your face. Olive goes very far, so be careful that you don’t use too much.
- Also, olive oil doesn’t absorb as quickly as some other oils. If you use it in the morning, give yourself a bit more time to prepare. But, to be safe, use it in the evening and apply it before watching a T.V. show or two. This will give it enough time to absorb before going to bed and putting your face on your pillow.
